Today we will learn about a framework you can use to make smart choices that we call the Road of Life.

WEEK 2
Welcome back for week 2 of Operation Aware.
We hope you have had a chance to set a goal for the next seven weeks. Maybe you want to get an “A” on a test or score a goal in your next game. Goals help us stay on our road of life and achieve our goals and dreams.
If you have time before the video, take a moment to think of something good that has happened this week. When I have the chance to teach Operation Aware in person, I love to hear good things that are happening for my students. even when it feels like nothing is going right, there is always something we can find that is positive; we call this finding good news. We will practice finding good news over the next seven weeks.
In this presentation we will talk about why some kids might use drugs. We’ll also learn how drugs can change something called dopamine in our brains. We’ll see how using drugs a lot can make it hard to stop. We’ll also talk about a kind of drug called Marijuana and how it can be harmful.

Now that you have finished the last lesson please take a moment to have your students fill out the posttest. We use this information to write grants so that we can keep this program free for TPS.
Once your students have filled out the posttest please take a moment to fill out our Teacher / Counselor evaluation so that we can continue to make improvements to the program so that it is the best it can be.
Teachers who have had their students fill out the posttest, and have filled out a Teacher / Counselor evaluation, will be entered to win a $50 Amazon gift card for their classroom courtesy of Operation Aware.
Thank you for all that you do and for facilitating this program for your students!
