Welcome back for week 2 of Operation Aware.

We hope you have had a chance to set a goal for the next eight weeks. Maybe you want to get an “A” on a test or score a goal in your next game. Goals help us stay on our road of life and achieve our goals and dreams.

If you have time before the video, take a moment to think of something good that has happened this week. When I have the chance to teach Operation Aware in person, I love to hear good things that are happening for my students. even when it feels like nothing is going right, there is always something we can find that is positive; we call this finding good news. We will practice finding good news over the next seven weeks.

Week 3

Hi friends, today we begin lesson 3. Before you begin, take a minute to think of something good that happened this past week. Then, take a minute to share with the person next to you. Remember, if you have a question or would like to share your good news with me, click the link below the video.

Week 4

Welcome back! I hope you had a great break and holiday. Can you believe we are halfway through our time together? It sure goes by fast. If you have a minute, I hope you can share some good news with each other. Remember there is a link below where you can ask me a question or share your good news! Today is one of my favorite topics because everyone has experienced this… it is an emotion – ANGER. We all get angry sometimes. Have you ever been so mad that you did something that got you into trouble? ME TOO!!!! That’s what I want to share with you today. So, clear your desk of distractions and let’s get to work.

Week 5

Hi friends, today we begin lesson 5. Before you start:

  • Take a minute to think of something good that happened this past week.

  • Take a minute to share with the person next to you.

Remember, if you have a question or would like to share your good news with me, click the link below the video.

As we head into our final lessons, we want to make you aware of some social situations you may find yourself in regarding drug use. In addition, we want you to know what the common drugs are that people try for the first time so that you can make the best decision for your Road of Life. You have big dreams - no need to get sidetracked.

Week 6

Hi students, today we begin lesson 6. Before you start:

  • Take a minute to think of something good that happened this past week.

  • Take a minute to share with the person next to you.

This week we will discuss nicotine. This topic can be tough to discuss because you may already know and care for someone who uses nicotine products. As you review this information, please be aware that we intend to provide you with the knowledge to make the best choice for you. People who use nicotine products are not bad people, most often they would not encourage their own child to try it because they know how hard it can be to quit once someone starts. Remember to write down any questions you have and submit them so we can provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision.

Week 7

Hi students, today we begin lesson 7. Before you start:

  • Take a minute to think of something good that happened this past week.

  • Take a minute to share with the person next to you.

Remember, if you have a question or would like to share your good news with me, click the link below the video.

Today, we will take a closer look at alcohol and marijuana and how those drugs affect our bodies. This topic can be hard because many of us know or love someone who uses alcohol. Using alcohol products before 21 can have damaging consequences and we want you to know the risks. You are in control of your health, and we want you to know this information so you can make the best decision for you and your road of life.

Week 8

Hi students, today we begin lesson 8. Before you start:

  • Take a minute to think of something good that happened this past week.

  • Take a minute to share with the person next to you.

Remember, if you have a question or would like to share your good news with me, click the link below the video.

For our final lesson we will discuss the importance of being drug free. We even have a drug free pledge you can take alone or with your class. As always, we have our question link below and a link for your posttest.

*Teachers please have each student complete the posttest link. This helps us provide Operation Aware free of charge in your classroom.
